Unbelievable, I still have no internet service in France in 2017!
I signed up for the Freebox after having pretty bad experiences with the other providers in the past, although, I must say, at least then I had internet service.
I had heard good things about Free from friends and decided to give it a go. So I signed up on June 20th; more than 2 weeks ago and, by their marketing material, I should be connected by now.
The box arrived a few days after signing up and, upon boot, got stuck in Etape 4. A few days later, it regressed to Etape 2 and has been stuck there since then.
Repeated calls to the help desk give me no information about what is going on nor when or how it will work, except the fact that it is Free's error and they are trying to correct it -- please be patient... The tone is one of "You are expected to stay quiet and wait until we feel we should work on your problem"...
They do say, though, that the technicians are working to solve the problem, which seems to be some wiring at their hub. I can visualize an army of minions working day and night for 2+ weeks 24by7 to solve the immense technical challenge to connect my house to the internet...
No other explanation, no update, no dates, no nothing. This is Avignon, France, in 2017, not some 3rd world country, where, by the way, internet connection is performed in days, not weeks!!
Appalling service
